Through SIGMA, the OECD and the European Union collect and publish data on principles of public administration in the Balkans. Åpenhet piloted a dissemination project intended at improving data accessibility and readability through an interactive data portal.

The context
SIGMA’s team repeatedly collects data on public administration in the Balkans. The project aims at making data collection, management, analysis and dissemination faster, more robust, more transparent and more efficient, while improving citizens’ and stakeholders’ (researchers, decision-makers, CSOs, etc.) access and understanding of the data.
Our solution
Åpenhet built an interactive data platform accessible here. We produced the technical background and services to ensure its development and helped SIGMA’s team adopt this tool.
The platform allows users to easily explore the data in depth, deep-dive into indicators or methodology, compare countries or periods, etc.
The result
- The solution developed by Åpenhet helped SIGMA increase its efficiency, its precision and reduce the toll of this activity on its resources;
- It allowed for this data to be more easily accessed, understood, retrieved and reused by external stakeholders to the OECD, thereby increasing;
- SIGMA’s visibility and credibility in the organization and outside. • Other OECD departments are now willing to develop similar data portals.

During the conference the winners of the ReSPA-SIGMA Public Administration Awards 2022 were revealed and awarded under the main categories: Digital transformation, Quality management for improving services and Public Administration for all.
